The 700 block of Massachusetts Street is fully open as crews wrapped up work early on a portion of a downtown waterline replacement project.

The block had been limited to one-way traffic, and parking on the west side of the street was prohibited. But Lisa Patterson, a spokeswoman for the city, said crews had completed enough of the project that it was now safe to reopen the street to two-way traffic and allow parking.

“The construction crews have been working diligently,” Patterson said.

But the 800 block of Massachusetts Street remains open only to one-way traffic and has parking restrictions on the west side of the street. Crews are continuing work on replacing that portion of the waterline.

Work on the 800 block is scheduled to be completed by early September.
