Ms. Wheelchair Kansas ranks nationally

Ranita Wilks, Ms. Wheelchair Kansas 2006, was named the second runner-up in the national Ms. Wheelchair America competition.

Wilks competed recently in Little Rock, Ark., with 27 other “Women of Strength” vying for the opportunity to represent women who are wheelchair-mobile in the U.S.

She was the third woman to represent Kansas in the national competition since the state’s program was created in 2004.

At the crowning ceremony Aug. 5, Autumn Grant, of Massachusetts, was named Ms. Wheelchair America.
