Air conditioning restored for clinic

Thanks to several donations, Lawrence’s Health Care Access once again had air conditioning on Wednesday, one day after someone stole the medical clinic’s air conditioning unit.

Nikki King, executive director of Health Care Access, said air conditioning service was restored at the clinic, 1920 Moodie Road, by 4 p.m. Wednesday.

King said the clinic received donations from Scott Temperature, Wingert Heating & Air and the Pilot Club of Lawrence to help restore cool air to the building.

Health Care Access employees arrived at work Tuesday to find that someone had stolen the air-conditioning unit from outside their building after cutting the wires and hoses that connected it.

Police are investigating the theft.
