Temperatures will climb today to a high of 75 degrees, with northwest winds at 5 to 10 mph, Schack said.

The average high temperature for this date is 69 degrees. The record high was 89 degrees, set in 1989.

Lawrence was getting a cool start this morning.

At 7:10 a.m., the city’s temperature was 39 degrees, the humidity was 86 percent and northwest winds were at 5 mph, making the windchill 36 degrees.

The average low temperature for this date is 47 degrees. The record low was 26 degrees, set in 1966.

“It looks like a pretty good weekend,” Schack said.

Saturday’s morning low temperature will start at 48 degrees and the temperature will climb to 81 Saturday afternoon, she said. A few clouds will move in, she said.

More clouds arrive on Sunday, Schack said. Sunday’s morning low temperature will be 54 degrees, with Sunday’s high climbing to 82, and a chance for storms late on Sunday night, she said.

The National Weather Service says there’s a 20 percent chance for thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and a 50 percent chance on Sunday night and Monday.
