Easter egg hunts slated for weekend

Area children will have two opportunities to hunt for Easter eggs this weekend.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation will host the city’s traditional Easter egg hunt from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at South Park. The event, which is open to children ages 3 to 12, will take place in two phases. Children with last names beginning with A through M will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Children with last names beginning with N through Z will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge to enter the event.

The Underwater Eggstravaganza will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive. The event is open to children 2 to 8 years old. There is a $3 fee to participate.
