Lawrence resident Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg recently returned from Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she presented a workshop on poetry and healing for students at the Instituto Cultura de Morales along with community members.

Mirriam-Goldberg also participated in a panel on healing from breast cancer through the arts, spoke about poetry therapy on the Cuernavaca public radio station and did a joint reading with Mexican teenage poetry prodigy Ekiwah Adler-Belendez.

Her trip and all the workshops were supported by the National Association for Poetry Therapy Foundation, the Ayotl Cultural center, the Instituto Cultura de Morales, Centro Morelense de las Artes and the Kansas Area Watershed Council.
