Sheriff’s officers arrested a 47-year-old Douglas County man Saturday night as a suspect in a rape investigation.

Sheriff spokeswoman Lt. Kari Wempe said at 9:30 p.m. Saturday that officers were still on the scene investigating after they received a report of an incident.

“I don’t have any additional information. It’s that fresh,” Wempe said.

Any information about the accuser or the type of alleged encounter was also unavailable, she said. According to Douglas County Jail records, the man was booked into the Douglas County Jail at 8:49 p.m. Saturday on charges of rape, battery and criminal restraint.

He remained in jail Saturday night in lieu of $150,500 bond.
