Minnie Richardson, Geneva Mendenhall and Elsie Decker were honored as retiring local teachers.

State Rep. Bill Fridley charged that a personnel shortage and overemphasis on specialization were crimping the training of doctors at the Kansas University Medical Center. The center responded that there were problems but that there certainly was nothing resembling a crisis.
