“We did some good things,” LHS coach Scott Stidham said. “This is our first meet against really good competition. We saw the state champions in a lot of events here. : It was a good measuring stick for us.”

Topeka Seaman won the boys team title with 104.5 points and was followed by Shawnee Heights (84) and LHS (82).

Leavenworth won the girls title with 142 points. Hutchinson was second with 81 and Lawrence third with 79.5.

“The two people that obviously stand out in my mind are Amy Magnuson and Scott Penny,” Stidham said. “They each won two events, and we expect that of them. We just need a few other people to step up to their level and improve our entire team.”
