Farm bureau honors J-W, 6News story

A Lawrence Journal-World and 6News story about the effect of rising fuel costs on custom crop harvesters won the Kansas Farm Bureau’s 2006 agricultural writing award, the Kansas Press Assn. announced Wednesday.

The article, “Fuel costs may drive custom cutters from field,” was written by Jim Baker.

The farm bureau will present the award on April 21 during the KPA convention in Wichita.

The Journal-World will be presented 48 awards during the KPA convention, including 22 first-place honors.
