University National Bank, Lawrence, announces the hiring of Mike Bartlow as vice president of credit administration and Adam Thompson as commercial loan officer.

Bartlow, a certified public accountant, was formerly with SS&C Business and Tax Services. He also was a shareholder and manager of Michael D. Bartlow, Chartered and Cole and Bartlow, Chartered. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He previously was a commercial lender with Cornerstone Bank of York, Neb.

¢ Deborah McMullen, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker McGrew Real Estate in Lawrence, has been honored as a member of the Coldwell Banker International Sterling Society. Membership is limited to the top 18 percent of the more than 126,000 sales associates worldwide in the Coldwell Banker system.

McMullen, who received her license in 1994, has served on the Lawrence Board of Realtors as a director and president, and is current chairwoman of its Risk Management Committee. She also is a director for the Kansas Association of Realtors.

¢ Dr. Michael Stuart announces the hiring of Lorelei Doud as chiropractic assistant and office manager of Stuart Chiropractic Health Center. Doud is a graduate of Free State High School and brings several years of customer service to the practice.

Stuart and Doud recently attended a Pinnacle Chiropractic Management Group convention in Kansas City, Mo. More than 2,500 doctors are members of Pinnacle, whose focus is providing member chiropractors with innovative techniques and practices to offer on-time appointments.

¢ Dr. Wes Crenshaw, of Family Therapy Institute Midwest, has been selected to present a continuing education program in August at an American Psychological Assn. convention in New Orleans. His workshop will be “Family Evaluation for Child Protective Cases: A Critically Optimistic Model.”

¢ The deadline for Kansas landowners to submit offers to enroll land in the Conservation Reserve Program is April 14.

Program participants voluntarily remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production by entering into long-term contracts for 10 to 15 years. In exchange, participants receive annual rental payments and a payment of up to 50 percent of the cost of establishing conservation practices.

Offers accepted will become effective Oct. 1.

Honors and awards

Freddie Mac announced that 84 single-family mortgage servicers achieved Tier One Platinum or Tier One Gold performance rankings for superior investor reporting and default management during 2005. Central National Bank of Lawrence was named as one of 33 Tier One Platinum Servicers nationwide.

Freddie Mac ranks its servicers against monthly performance benchmarks for investor reporting, minimizing credit losses, and helping delinquent borrowers avoid foreclosure.

Central National Bank’s inclusion on the list is an indication of the high standards and impressive track record the bank’s mortgage servicing division has achieved, Freddie Mac said.

Coming events

Tim Triggs, of the Kansas Department of Labor, will present “Kansas Wage and Hour Issues” to employers from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. April 20 at the Lawrence Workforce Center, 2540 Iowa, Suite R.
