Firebirds reach double digits in soccer triumph

? Four different players scored twice Saturday as the Free State boys soccer team cruised to a 10-1 victory over Junction City.

The Firebirds scored five times in each half.

Kyle Ceesay started the scoring early in the contest and finished with two goals, as did teammates Alex Clayton, Mitchell Morrow and David Turvey.

Andrew Heck had a goal and an assist for Free State, and John Sneegas contributed two assists.

Free State (5-2) will return to action Tuesday at home against Topeka High in a rematch of last year’s double-overtime regional final, which was won by Topeka.
