¢ Werling Golf Winner: Rob Werling carded a 2-over-par 74 and won Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar. Tom Dennis, Chris Anderson and Van Reichert shared runner-up, each with a 79. In net scoring, Kent Hodgson was low with a 76. Curt Anderson recorded 76 and Frank Lewis 78.

¢ Horseshoe Champ: Wynne Mihura of Lawrence went unbeaten in five matches and won the Class A portion of the Lawrence Invitational horseshoe tournament Sunday at Broken Arrow Park. Dorothy Pritchard of Overbrook was second and Don Swedal of Kansas City, Mo., third.

¢ Rowing Reunion: Kansas Rowing will hold its first alumni reunion starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Burcham Park. Among the activities will be boat races and a silent auction. For information, go to kucrewalumni@yahoo.com.

¢ Hoopsters Sessions: Evaluations for Lawrence Hoopsters AAU basketball will be Saturday at Holcom Rec Center – fourth grade at 10:45 a.m., fifth grade at noon, sixth grade at 1:45 p.m. and seventh grade at 3:30 p.m. For information, call Rick McNabb at 749-4664.

¢ Ruggers in Action: Kansas Rugby Football Club will play two matches Saturday at Westwick Complex south of Lawrence. The collegiate team will meet Kansas State at 1 p.m., and the club team will clash with the Wichita Barbarians at 2:30 p.m.
