Anti-war protest slated for Saturday
The Lawrence Coalition for Peace and Justice is sponsoring a march and rally Saturday to protest the war in Iraq.
The group intends to publicize the cost of the war and to demand U.S. troops be brought home. The event will coincide with demonstrations planned across the country.
The march will start at 11 a.m. at Watson Memorial Park, Seventh and Vermont streets, and will end with a program at the South Park Gazebo. There will be speakers, music and free food.
