Twins keep Sox reeling

? Johan Santana struck out 13 Saturday to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 5-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

Santana (14-7) has struck out 10 or more batters in eight starts this season and he leads the major leagues with 220 strikeouts. Justin Morneau hit his career-high 20th homer, and Michael Cuddyer also homered for the Twins.

Anaheim, Calif. – Garret Anderson capped a three-run eighth inning with a two-run ground-rule double, and Ervin Santana pitched eight strong innings to lead Los Angeles past Detroit.

Red Sox 2, Athletics 1

Boston – Manny Ramirez hit a tiebreaking homer in the sixth inning and drove in two runs, leading Bronson Arroyo and Boston.

Yankees 1, Blue Jays 0

Toronto – Shawn Chacon gave New York’s tired bullpen a much-needed rest by pitching eight innings, Bernie Williams drove in the lone run, and the Yankees won their sixth straight.

Rangers 7, Mariners 6

Arlington, Texas – Hank Blalock’s RBI double with one out in the bottom of the ninth powered Texas.

Orioles 2, Devil Rays 1

Baltimore – Luis Matos drove in Bernie Castro with a one-out single in the bottom of the eighth.
