The Veritas Christian Academy volleyball team enjoyed a rousing start as a varsity program, sweeping its inaugural three matches Tuesday night at the East Lawrence Center.

The Eagles (3-0) defeated Kansas City East 25-23, and beat Topeka Cornerstone 25-13, 25-23, then needed three games to defeat Kansas City North 16-25, 25-18, 15-9.

Kristie Tiegreen enjoyed a strong varsity debut, recording 24 aces, 18 kills and two blocks.

Adi Willems added 16 assists and six kills, and Becky Woods chipped in five kills.
