KU Youth Chorus seeking participants

Kansas University’s music and dance department has organized a youth chorus and is seeking fourth- through seventh-graders to join.

The non-auditioned group is open to the first 75 students who apply. The cost is $35.

Debra Hedden, associate professor of music education, will serve as chief conductor.

Rehearsals will begin in October and run from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Thursdays at Murphy Hall.

An informal concert is planned for May 2006.
