Days after he failed to appear in court for charges related to drugs and a vehicle pursuit, a Lawrence man led officers on another chase early Tuesday morning.
Police responded about 1:30 a.m. to the 2600 block of West Sixth Street after hearing a report of auto burglaries, said Sgt. Dan Ward, a Lawrence Police spokesman. An officer spotted a vehicle matching the description and tried to stop it.
The driver, later identified as Thomas R. Peterson, 23, Lawrence, led police on a pursuit that lasted about 10 minutes and ended on John Doy Court when officers put out road spikes, Ward said.
Peterson was charged Tuesday with fleeing to elude police, driving under the influence and drug possession.
According to court records, he had failed to appear in court Thursday for a hearing related to a drug-dealing charge and an Aug. 14 vehicle pursuit.
