Wichita ? Free State High’s Alysha Valencia claimed first place Saturday in the Wichita Carroll cross country invitational, leading the Firebirds to a fourth-place team finish.

Valencia finished in 12:20, and teammate Kyra Kilwein was fourth in 13:04. Free State’s boys finished third, led by Spencer Martin in 12th place in 17:59.
