Haskell hoping to keep thumping Trinity

? Haskell Indian Nations University’s football team has mopped up on Trinity Bible College for three consecutive seasons.

Now, the Fightin’ Indians hope to make it four in a row when they meet the Lions in their season opener today. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. on the TBC campus.

Haskell has outscored the Lions, 185-0, in the last three meetings, including a 57-0 pasting last year in Lawrence. HINU flogged TBC, 60-0, in 2003 and 68-0 in 2002.

Trinity Bible knocked off the Indians, 26-17, in 2001, but it’s been downhill for the Lions ever since. They haven’t won a game in the last three years.

Haskell will make the trip home following today’s game, then begin preparations Monday for the home opener a week from today against South Dakota Tech.
