The Kansas Veterinary Medical Assn. is seeking nominations for the Pet of the Year.

Owners of animals that have provided distinguished service or performed in an extraordinary manner for the benefit of an individual or community are encouraged to nominate their pet for the honor.

The animal will be honored during ceremonies for the association’s annual convention, which will be Jan. 21 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.
