KU Symphony Orchestra plans performance

The KU Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lied Center.

The orchestra will begin the evening with “Egmont” overture by Ludwig van Beethoven. The featured soloists for the performance are Steve Leisring, assistant professor of trumpet, and Graciella Kowalczyk, DMA student in piano performance. They will perform Dmitri Shostakovich’s concerto for piano, strings and trumpet.

The concert will conclude with a performance of Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor.

Tickets for the performance are $7 for the general public and $5 for students and senior citizens, and they can be ordered by calling the Lied Center Ticket Office at 864-2787.
