Temperatures warming into the 60s

Frosty conditions greeted Lawrence residents again this morning.

“You probably have to scrape that windshield again. And grab a coat,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

At 7:42 a.m., the temperature was 32 degrees, the humidity was 92 percent and winds were calm. There was patchy fog in some low-lying areas, Schack said.

Today’s skies will be sunny, with light winds from the east at 3 to 8 mph. The high temperature will reach 61 degrees. The average high for this date is 65 degrees and the average low is 43.

Overnight, the temperature will drop off to a low of 35 degrees by early Friday morning.

“I don’t think we have to deal with frost tomorrow morning,” Schack said.

Friday will be sunny and warmer, with the high reaching 66 degrees.

Saturday’s morning low will be 43 degrees, with the high reaching 68, Schack said. The National Weather Service says winds will be from the south, 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Clouds will move in Saturday, bringing the possibility of some rain on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says there’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Sunday and Sunday night.
