Most worker bees don’t want to be queen

Today is National Boss Day, and the big kahunas of the business world can relax.

Turns out most underlings don’t want their jobs.

A survey of 972 professionals found that 71 percent would rather not take their managers’ posts. A possible reason: 63 percent say they couldn’t do a better job.

“Top jobs can be demanding and many employees acknowledge that fact, even if they may not always express their appreciation for their manager’s efforts,” said Diane Domeyer, executive director of OfficeTeam, which commissioned the survey.
