Photography exhibit opening at Baker

Former Kansas University faculty member Lee Mann will have her collection of photographs of drawings on rocks featured in “Rock Art of the Southwest: Ancient Petroglyphs and Pictogrpahs,” a monthlong exhibition at Holt/Russell Gallery at Baker University’s Parmenter Hall.

The exhibition opens 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and ends Nov. 11. After opening night, the gallery will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Petroglyphs are images produced by cutting or chiseling into stone surfaces. Pictographs are images painted onto stone from available local colors. Some of the images photographed are believed to be 6,000 years old.
