Employees, managers embrace office parties

The holiday office party remains a cherished tradition among employees and managers alike, according to a new survey.

Seventy-three percent of managers at Fortune 1000 companies and 74 percent of employees in office environments say their companies play host to office celebrations, according to a survey conducted for OfficeTeam, a staffing service for office professionals.

Of those who have access to such soirees, 77 percent of managers and 71 percent of employees say they enjoy celebrating the winter holidays with co-workers, the survey found.

The results indicate a more festive spirit than four years ago, when 64 percent of executives said the annual get-together had fallen out of favor.
