Lawrence Police said Monday that between Friday and Sunday they handled:

¢ 847 calls

¢ 102 reports

¢ four burglaries

¢ 10 thefts

¢ 17 noninjury accidents

¢ five injury accidents

¢ A 22-year-old Lawrence man has been charged with aggravated kidnapping after he allegedly choked a female acquaintance and held her down Sunday morning at his apartment in the 1100 block of Louisiana Street. Police said it wasn’t clear what prompted the incident, which happened about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, but that the man was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. The man, Syam Sidhardan, was being held in jail Monday with bond set at $175,000.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 20-year-old Kansas University student reported a 1996 Ford valued at $4,000 and an Apple iPod valued at $200 stolen between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Tennessee Street.
