4-H club officers attended Douglas County Officer Training on Oct. 27 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Kim Davis, the Douglas County youth and development agent, started the training with a communication exercise.

The group then split into smaller groups based on offices.

Ashley Lesser, a seven-year member of the Stull Busy Beavers, attended the training to learn more about how to be junior president. She learned about making motions. Kim Stewart showed song leaders the enthusiasm needed to get members on their feet and singing.

After training for offices, the group then played a game in which the objective was to make a snack by passing motions according to parliamentary procedures.

¢ Vinland Valley 4-H Club met Nov. 7 at the Vinland Methodist Church. It was parents night, when parents conduct the meeting. The club also had an award ceremony and installed new officers.

The meeting was called to order by George Hunsinger, acting president. Nancy Baker served as vice president, and Sherri Brown was secretary. Sandy Stone talked about new business items. Cheryl Hunsinger discussed record books. Awards were given to 4-Hers with completed record books and award pins were handed out.

The new officers are: Spencer Wilson, president; Casey George, junior president; Lacey Hunsinger, female council representative; Bailey Brown, vice president; Paris Nottingham, junior vice president; Misty Emory, recording secretary; Kelly Baker, corresponding secretary; Braxton Nottingham, treasurer; Brittnay George, reporter; Bryce Mock, recreation leader; and Amanda Miller, historian.

The Baker family served as achievement family hosts. Other members brought dishes for a potluck dinner.

The Dec. 6 meeting will begin with Christmas caroling at Vintage Park in Baldwin. The club will meet at 7 p.m. at the church for the business meeting.

Members are to bring their favorite Christmas snack.
