CLINTON (Updated 5-26) – Water 70 degrees. Channel catfish good. Fish have moved into shallow water to spawn and are being caught on a varsity of baits and lures. Walleye fair drifting jig and nightcrawler across flats, or trolling crankbaits. Crappie fair on minnows or jigs. Some still being caught near banks, but most now at 6-10 feet. Notes: A 10-inch minimum length limit and 20 daily creel limit on crappie, and an 18-inch minimum length limit on wiper went into effect Jan. 1.

PERRY (updated 5-26) – Water 70 degrees and 3.4 feet above normal pool. Channel catfish fair to good. Fish will be running to dirty water to feed. Use shad sides off windy banks as fish moving in shallow. Sauger fair on rocky points on west side towards dam on crankbaits and twisters. Spawn is over. White bass fair on rocky points with twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair to good on tube jigs or minnows at 1-3 feet from the bank. Note: Crappie daily creel limit of 20 in effect.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 5-26) – Largemouth bass fair using plastic lizards and worms. Channel catfish good using nightcrawlers and stinkbait. Crappie good using jigs or minnows from shore. Bluegill good on nightcrawler pieces at about 18 inches above bobber.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 5-26) – Channel catfish good using nightcrawlers, livers and stinkbait. Bluegill fair on worms under bobber along weedbeds. Crappie fair on jig and minnows off piers and rock banks. Largemouth bass good using plastic lizards, worms and spinnerbaits. Note: Spring electrofishing showed a good population of largemouth bass.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 5-26) – Channel catfish good using nightcrawlers or minnows. Largemouth bass fair using plastic lizards, worms, tube jigs and spinnerbaits. Bluegill fair using worms under bobber along weedbeds. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around shoreline.
