The club presented a U.S. flag to Pinckney School on April 13. Wulfkuhle, flag chairwoman of the club, has presented more than 20 flags to various organizations. One of the club's goals is to promote respect for the flag.

From left, Jeri Herman, Midge Grinstead, Sally Cloar and Bryce Baringer gather for a picture during the Welcome Club of Lawrence's charity luncheon at Alvamar Country Club, 1809 Crossgate Drive. Herman, of the club's Ways and Means Committee, and Cloar, club president, presented 00 to the Lawrence Humane Society, where Grinstead is director, and 00 to Boy Scout Troop 55, of which Baringer is a member. The club also donated 00 to Jubilee Cafe. The donations were given during the April 20 luncheon at the country club.

Trisha Young, 11, a member of Girl Scout Troop 640, carries items for donation into the Lawrence Humane Society. The troop collected items and money for the shelter and delivered the goods April 27.

Members of the Countryside Garden Club met in March at the Spencer Research Library at Kansas University to view items relating to gardening. The club also donated the records of its first 50 years to the library's Kansas Collection.
