Nick and Meagon Marshall, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Amaya Camille Marshall, born April 10, 2005, in Lawrence. She has a brother, Keelan Jamari Marshall, 22 months. Maternal grandparents are Deb Pickering and Steve Baumann, both of Ames, Iowa. Paternal grandparents are Dana Marshall, Lawrence, and Fred Marshall, Houston. Great-grandparents are Louis and Louisa Marshall, Coffeyville; Vivian Wilson, Lawrence; and Vera Baumann, Iowa Falls, Iowa.

The Lawrence Accredited Music Teachers Assn. will present students in a recital at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

Hillcrest School is having a retirement reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 15 in the school’s library. Guests of honor will be Katie Becker, sixth-grade teacher; Bob Lominska, kindergarten teacher; and Alice Terry, food service manager.
