Robert H. ‘Bob’ Bowers, Topeka

? Services for Robert H. “Bob” Bowers, 66, Silver Lake, will be at 10 a.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Bowers died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Silver Lake, the son of Joe and Clara Startup Bowers. He was raised in Grantville and graduated from Perry High School in 1956.

Mr. Bowers served in the Kansas Army National Guard for eight years. He worked for Kansas State Printers for more than 27 years. He was a produce farmer and sold his products at the Lawrence Farmers Market for 15 years. He bred and raised Weimaraners and was a member of the Eagle’s Lodge in Topeka.

He married Phyllis Rath in July 1957, in Topeka. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Brad and Bobby, both of Silver Lake, and Brent, Rossville; a sister, Janet Buxton, Topeka; three half-brothers, Glen, Topeka, Monte, De Soto, and Jack, Eudora; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
