Leo Lee Cooper, Carmichael, Calif.

? Leo Lee Cooper, 87, Citrus Heights, Calif., died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Carmichael.

He was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Vinland, Kan., the son of Charles H. and Alleta Leese Cooper. He grew up in Lawrence, Kan., and attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City., Kan.

Mr. Cooper served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. He was a bombardier aboard B-17s and was based out of England. He flew 25 missions and flew tow on D-day. He worked for Capp Homes in Sacramento, Calif., and was a member of Elks Lodge in Carmichael.

He married Mae Francis Mara in January 1942, in Hollywood, Calif. She died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Lynn Roullett, Citrus Heights, Calif.; a son, Loren Lee Cooper, Santa Rosa, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
