Joseph Raymond ‘Ray’ Bewley, Ozawkie

? Graveside services for Joseph Raymond “Ray” Bewley, 87, Perry, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ozawkie Cemetery.

Mr. Bewley died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in Topeka.

He was born April 10, 1918, in Netawaka, the son of Joseph J. and Nina Marshall Bewley.

Mr. Bewley served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a laborer at Kansas Building and Trades Construction Union in Topeka.

He married Hannah Mae Jernigan Penn in April 1959, in Arkansas. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Virginia Yohe, Garland, Texas, and Lois Jean Brunton, Perry; three brothers, Jim Bewley and William Bewley, both of Atchison, and Joe Stewart, Beuhler; three sisters, Peggy Wilburn and Patricia Swordy, Atchison, and Louise Moulton, Areadia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
