Services for Gerald “Jerry” Rongish, 70, Lawrence, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence.

Mr. Rongish died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born April 28, 1934, in Edgerton, the son of Herman Joseph and Mary Corrine Haney Rongish. He graduated from Clyde High School and Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

Mr. Rongish served in the U.S. Army. He was a bank examiner for the state of Kansas for 30 years and retired in 1997.

He married Saundra Vann-Van Speybroeck on Feb. 1, 1964, in Wichita. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Joseph Rongish, Lenexa, Patrick Vincent, Anchorage, Alaska, Timothy Rongish, Seoul, South Korea; a brother, John, Wichita; and two grandchildren.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, Mid American Chapter, or the church, sent in care of the mortuary.
