School finance countdown

28 days: The state Supreme Court has given lawmakers until April 12 to produce a constitutional school finance plan.

Tuesday’s highlights

The handiwork of House Republicans on the Appropriations Committee continued to catch criticism. Dr. Barbara Atkinson, executive vice chancellor at Kansas University Medical Center, said the delay in a state employee pay raise and raids on tuition funds would hurt the quality of education, research and health care.
