Topeka ? 40 Days – The state Supreme Court has given lawmakers until April 12 to produce a constitutional school finance plan.

Thursday’s highlights

• School finance proposals advanced through the Legislature with the Senate adopting a $145 million increase and the House giving preliminary approval to a $113 million increase. Democrats said the proposals fall far short of court-ordered improvements.
• The legal battle between Atty. Gen. Phill Kline and two abortion clinics continued with Kline filing a legal brief to seek court-ordered medical records of about 90 women and girls who received abortions.
