¢ Ezell Ace: Neal Ezell used a 4-iron to record a hole-in-one June 15 on the 197-yard No. 11 hole at Lawrence Country Club. Witnesses were Jeff Robbins, Ryan Catlin and Rob Riggle.

¢ LHS Basketball Camp: Lawrence High girls basketball coach Kristin Mallory’s camp for junior high and high schools girls and for youths in grades 2-6 will be June 27 to July 1. For information, call 550-0690.

¢ Reaney Takes Five: Emma Reaney of the Lawrence Aquahawks won five gold medals in the U-12 girls division of the Ohio Valley swim championships June 8-11 in Louisville, Ky. Aquahawks Mitch Moore, Alyssa Rudman and Ben Sloan collected one gold medal apiece.

¢ Gill Hole-in-One: Jimmie Gill used a 7-wood to ace the 171-yard No. 7 hole June 13 at Alvamar Golf Club. Witnesses were Alex Boyle and Jack Cummings.

¢ Jensen Takes Gold: Lawrence’s Brian Jensen won the gold medal in the marquee event at Sunday’s Kansas Cycling Championships in Overland Park. Jensen outsprinted his four breakaway companions, including teammate and silver medalist Bill Stolte, to win the men’s Pro/1/2 criterium title.

¢ Unity Run Aug. 13: Lawrence’s Crosstown Unity Run 10K will be Aug. 13. The course runs from Free State High to Lawrence High. For information, go to www.unityrun.com or call Earl Richardson at 814-6458.

¢ Track Medalists: Lawrence’s Bridgette Berry and Alexa Harmon-Thomas earned three age-group medals apiece at the USATF Missouri Valley championships. Berry collected gold in the high jump and long jump and a bronze in the 200. Harmon-Thomas picked up silvers in the high jump, long jump and 200.

¢ Roberts JGC Champ: Conrad Roberts fired a one-over-par 73 and captured Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by two strokes over Chris Anderson. Kent Beisner and Chris Conroy shared third place, each with a 76. In net scoring, Jeff Miller was low with a 67, followed by Tony Kisner at 68 and Pete Whitenight at 69.

¢ AFA Runners-Up: Phenix Fyler finished second in the U-16 division of last weekend’s Lawrence AFA Tournament. Team members are Bailey Beasley, Caitlin Bowlin, Molly Fyler, Lacey Henry, Emily Lamb, Sydney Seratte, Hannah Somers, Dequesne Sprow, Chelsea Carnagie, Michelle Smith, Julianne George, Jill Spratt, Audrey Chavez and Jordan Van Houtan. Coaches are Randy Fyler, Teri George, Steve Seratte and Lloyd Van Houtan.
