Area fishing report

CLINTON (Updated 6-15) – Water 76 degrees and 7.98 feet above normal pool. Flathead catfish fair using sunfish on limblines and rod and reel off rocky areas. Channel catfish fair on a variety of baits. Some being caught in outlet. Drum fair using nightcrawlers in streams flowing into reservoir. Walleye fair drifting jig and nightcrawler or leeches across flats or trolling crankbaits. Notes: More than 70,000 wiper fingerlings were stocked Tuesday.

PERRY (updated 6-14) – Water 78 degrees and 11 feet over normal pool. Channel catfish fair to good. Fish will be running to dirty water to feed. Use shad sides off windy banks as fish moving in shallow. Sauger fair to good on rocky points on west side towards dam on crankbaits and twisters. White bass fair on rocky points with twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair on tube jigs or minnows at 8-12 feet on brush. Note: Only usable boat ramps are at Thompsonville and Slough Creek. A virus that affects carp and gold fish has left many dead carp around lake.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 6-15) – Water 74 degrees. Lake full. Largemouth bass fair using minnows or jigs. Channel catfish fair using nightcrawlers, poultry liver or stinkbait. Flathead catfish fair using goldfish. Bluegill fair on nightcrawler pieces about 18 inches below bobber.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 6-15) – Channel catfish good using nightcrawlers, shad, large minnows and stinkbait. Crappie fair using nightcrawlers or jigs. Largemouth bass good using plastic worms, spinnerbaits and nightcrawlers. Note: More than 1,600 wiper fingerlings were stocked Tuesday.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 6-15) – Largemouth bass fair using spinnerbaits, crankbaits and plastic jigs with worms. Channel catfish fair using nightcrawlers, liver, stinkbait or minnows. Note: More than 1,900 wiper fingerlings were stocked Tuesday.
