Hummers

The 18-U Hummers went undefeated en route to a first place finish in the Heartland Firecracker American Fastpitch Association National Qualifying tournament July 4 in Blue Springs, Mo.

The Hummers players, coached by Brian Wagner, include: Jessica Baer, Dian Riat, Brooke Abney, Summer Mulford, Kelly Spence, Dacia Sprow, Ashley Wagner, Ashley Vice, Chloe Hall and Livi Abney.

DCABA Select Team

The Douglas Co. Amateur Baseball Assn.’s 8-U Select team, the Lawrence Tornadoes, placed third in the Kansas Coach Pitch World Series on July 4 in Ottawa. Members of the team are Nyle Anderson, Drew Boulton, Alan Clothier, Steven Garcia, Nate Hulse, Noah Huston, Steven Johnson, Parker Kirkpatrick, Sam Oliver, Braxton Olson, Joseph Otto, Sam Skwarlo and Logan Smith.

10-U Rebels

The 10-U Kansas Rebels team is playing in the Super Series National Tournament in Norman, Okla. They have won their first three games in pool play.

They defeated the East Texas Horns, 5-4, and the T-Town Bombers, 9-6, on Sunday. On Monday they won their game against the Toros, 8-0. Bracket play starts today.

13-U Rebels

The 13-U Kansas Rebels team is in Longmont, Colo. playing in the Super Series Summer National Tournament.

The Rebels lost their first game Sunday to the Texas Jacks from Forney, Texas, 12-8. On Monday, the Rebels played to an 8-8 tie with the Yankees from Norman, Okla.

Bracket play starts today.

11-U Rebels

The 11-U Kansas Rebels team is playing in the USAAA World Series at the Mid-America Complex in Shawnee. They lost their first game to the St. Louis Toros on Monday, 8-0.

12-U Rebels

The 12-U Kansas Rebels team is playing in a National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. Pool play ended Tuesday and bracket play starts today.
