To the editor:

Seven score and two years ago, Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves in the United States.

Question 1: Will it take 140-plus years to abolish slavery, poverty, hunger and preventable disease in Africa?

Question 2: Will delay ever be the solution?
