McDonald’s reopens after renovation

McDonald’s, 1309 W. Sixth St., reopened its doors Friday after being closed for more than a month for a renovation project.

The restaurant now features two drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio. It also has extended the hours it serves breakfast until 11:30 a.m.

To celebrate the reopening, festivities are scheduled from about 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. today. There will be free cake, cookies and other giveaways. Ronald McDonald will make an appearance at noon.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Tom and Marilyn Dobski, Lawrence.
