Colony-Crest too solid early

? It wasn’t hard to figure why Seabury Academy dropped a 47-28 high school girls basketball decision Thursday to Colony-Crest.

“The first half killed us,” Seabury coach Nick Taylor said. “When you only score 10 points and they score 29 …”

The Seahawks outscored Colony Crest 16-10 in the fourth quarter, but by then it was too late.

“They jumped on us early,” Taylor said, “and we had a lot of first-half turnovers. They never looked back. We were back on our heels. We didn’t take care of the ball. They were hitting their shots, and we weren’t hitting any of our shots. We just didn’t look into it in the first half.”

Laura Frizell led Seabury with 16 points, but no other Seahawk scored more than four.

Seabury (5-7) will play host Tuesday to Kansas School for the Deaf.
