KU football gets another pledge

The Kansas University football team picked up its 23rd known pledge for the 2005 season, landing a nonbinding oral commitment from defensive back James Holt of Altus, Okla., according to rivals.com.

Holt picked the Jayhawks over Oklahoma State and Tulsa after taking his official visit to Lawrence last weekend.

“There are a lot of Jayhawk fans down where I live,” the 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety told Jon Kirby of rivals. “I always heard I would like it there.”

Holt is the third defensive back committed to KU, along with Justin Thornton and Darrell Stuckey.
