John Patrick Lenahan

— Mass of Christian Burial for John Patrick Lenahan, 90, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Eudora.

Mr. Lenahan died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Eudora Nursing Center.

He was born April 25, 1914, in Tonganoxie, the son of Patrick and Mabel McCaffrey Lenahan.

Mr. Lenahan was a postmaster in Eudora and retired in 1977. He also worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant near De Soto for 16 years.

He married Mary Louise Elston on March 29, 1937, in Tonganoxie. She died in 1987.

Survivors include a son, David, Houston; three sisters, Mary Alice Stubbs and Margaret Lenahan, both of Tonganoxie, and Patricia Powell, Clinton, Mo., two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A rosary prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel.

The family suggests memorials to Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of the mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
