Photographer takes first in national exhibit

Lawrence photographer Shakura Jackson placed first in a national exhibition with the theme “Psyche: Journeys of the Mind.”

The exhibit is on display through February at the St. Louis Artists Guild. She also was selected for a juried exhibit in Great Bend, on view through February at the Shafer Gallery at Barton County Community College.

Her work may be seen with the upcoming Lawrence Art Guild All-Members Show and the April art auction at the Lawrence Arts Center.

Gallery to present architectural photos

Fields Gallery, 712 Mass., will begin showing the architectural photography of Topekans Barry Molineaux and Cathy Callen during Lawrence’s Downtown Gallery Walk, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

The artists work with form, line and color to discover the structures within structure.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
