Injury accidents

  • A 49-year-old Lecompton man suffered injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle wreck on County Road 1029.

Dennis E. Boltz was taken by ambulance to a hospital after his 1987 Jeep Cherokee collided with a 1994 Acura Legend driven by Amanda Doleman, 28, Lawrence.

Doleman was going north around a curve in the road when she lost control on ice and struck Boltz’s southbound vehicle, according to a report. The wreck happened about 7:15 a.m. just north of County Road 438.

  • An 18-year-old Lawrence woman suffered injuries Jan. 14 in a rear-end wreck on West Sixth Street at Champion Lane.

Christina E. Gordzica, 18, was headed west about 6:15 p.m. in a 1990 Honda Prelude when she struck a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by David A. Clingenpeel, 36, Lawrence, according to a report.

Gordzica was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance. She was cited for inattentive driving, according to a report.

Condition reports

  • Larry Reed, the 69-year-old Douglas County man injured in a one-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning at County Roads 1061 and 458, was in fair condition Thursday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone used a financial card to steal $14,000 in miscellaneous items from U.S. Universal Services Corp., 3211 Clinton Parkway.

The theft happened between Jan. 6 and Jan. 15 and was reported Monday.

  • The Shelter Inc., 105 W. 11th St., is missing $1,025 in cash and gift certificates stolen between Jan. 7 and Tuesday, according to a police report. The money was taken from a bank bag in an unlocked cabinet inside the office. There was no forced entry.
