John William Malone, DeSoto

DeSoto ? Services for John William Malone, 74, DeSoto, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel. Private graveside services will be in DeSoto Cemetery.

Mr. Malone died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, in DeSoto.

He was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Lenape, the son of Fred and Jessie Malone. He was raised in DeSoto and graduated from DeSoto High School in 1948.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952. He was a past commander at DeSoto Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Everheart of Kansas City, Kan., and Juanita Offutt, Stillwell; and a brother, Glenn Malone, Gardner.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel before the services.
