Lawrence commuter report

The following construction projects and events may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

Interstate Highway 70, from the East Topeka to Lecompton exits, widening project under way.

Kansas Highway 32 at Stranger Creek, bridge reduced to one lane for widening.

Southbound Interstate Highway 635 at Swartz Road, ramp closed.

U.S. Highway 69 southbound from Interstate 35 to 91st Street, lane width restrictions and ramp closures for reconstruction of 87th Street entrance ramp.

The following projects may affect city traffic this week:

U.S. Highway 40 (Sixth Street) from Kansas Highway 10 to Folks Road, traffic carried through construction as U.S. 40 is widened to four lanes.

Trail Road east of Folks Road, traffic limited to one lane during day for sewer line installation.

Kansas University men’s basketball vs. Nebraska, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Allen Fieldhouse, KU campus.

14th Street at Jayhawk Boulevard, closed for steam tunnel installation.

13th Street from Oregon to Pennsylvania streets, closed for stormwater improvements.

23rd Street at Ohio, Tennessee, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Learnard streets, signs will be placed this week restricting left hand turns at these intersections between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
