Baldwin stifles Turner

? Baldwin’s stifling defense held Kansas City Turner scoreless for the first 14 minutes of the 16-minute second half, and the Bulldogs rolled to a 35-19 high school girls basketball rout Friday night.

“Defensively in the second half, we shut them down,” BHS coach Eric Toot said. “Our man pressure took them out of what they wanted to do.”

After scoring 15 in the first half, Turner went 14 minutes into the second half before scoring again. It added a basket at the final buzzer.

Amanda Vander Tuig led BHS (6-1) with eight points. Katelyn Miles added six.

Baldwin will play host to Ottawa on Monday in a game rescheduled because of bad weather.
